Lesson Outline

Team Assignments [10 min]

• Teams announced – find your table and sit with your team
• Six feature areas: catalog, requirements, plans, advising, preferences, scheduling
• The class repository opens Thursday, and we will walk through it then

Group Project [25 min]

• System Description – re-read the section for your area
• Core Schema Design – the ten tables every team shares
• Project 1 (due Sep 21) – what to write, and what each section is for

Lecture Slides [15 min]

• ER Models
  • Conceptual data models, entities, attributes
  • Introduction to draw.io (app.diagrams.net)

Lab Activity [20 min]

• Abstract ER Models, Part 1
• Entities and attributes only – relationships come Thursday
• Nothing to submit today; keep the diagram, you will extend it
