Week 8 (Mar 04)¶
Your "reading" for this week is to prepare for the exam. Begin by taking the sample exam on your own so you know what you need to study. Then work through Practice-It problems and watch the review videos below.
Sample Exam¶
Take the sample exam on your own, closed book, without a computer. Set a 50-minute timer so you can practice finishing in the time alloted.
The actual exam will be similar in nature and length to the sample exam. Solutions will be posted in Canvas about 24 hours prior to the exam.
Memory Diagrams¶
Question #4 on the sample exam asks you to determine the output of four similar programs (EarRing, LipRing, NavelRing, and NoseRing).
This year's exam will require you to draw a memory diagram for each program, in addition to determining the output.

Practice-It is a great resource for reviewing content from homeworks 4, 5, and 6. Focus on the following categories under Building Java Programs, 5th edition:
- BJP5 Chapter 8: Classes (most important)
- BJP5 Chapter 6: File Processing
- BJP5 Chapter 10: ArrayLists (least important)
