Turtlebot ISO

You can download the course ISO here: mint14-hydro-CS354-64bit.iso

It should be relatively straightforward to install this iso to a virtual machine using VirtualBox. You can download VirtualBox here: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

If you have never used VirtualBox, you should be able to find plenty of tutorials online. This one looks reasonable: http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/virtualbox

You should be able to work through most of the ROS tutorials using a virtual machine, however there are some downsides: I haven't had any luck connecting from the virtual machine to the Turtlebot through USB ports and I've had trouble getting the simulator to work.

If you want to turn the iso into a bootable thumb drive, I recommend unetbootin.
