PayTex is one of several fictitious companies created by Prof. David Bernstein, now a member of the Computer Science Department at James Madison University .

1 About the Company

PayTex develops technologies for electronic payment and crypto-currency systems. They have expertise in traditional electronic funds transfer and payment processing, as well as modern electronic cash, coupons, and vouchers. They have developed applications for small and large businesses, universities, and governments. Their technologies have been used in both mobile/handheld and stationary/desktop systems, using both wired and wireless communications.

Some of it's current products include:

iconScripz.gif Scripz - A system that allows people to pay each other for goods and services using specialized scrip/chits.

2 About the Name

The name PayTex is a play on the terms "payment", "technologies", and "paycheck". The logo is supposed to convey the impression of a transfer between parties.
